Our love story is like no other. We can’t thank God enough for allowing two people to be in the right place at the right time for His particular purpose: to meet, grow and fall in love. This is the story of us… Phillip and Tabetha were both born on the island of Jamaica but their paths never crossed. Tabetha came to the US at a tender young age with her parents and pursued an education, in health care. While Phillip, fueled by his desire for higher education came to the US to continue his studies as a young adult. This is where their paths would eventually cross and their love story begin. Phillip came to live with his aunt who happened to attend the same church as Tabetha and has known her since she was a pre-teen. Though she initially made no formal introductions, his aunt knew all along that God had something special planned for them both. Tabetha and Phillip were destined to be together, despite the two of them separately seeking direction from God. Always wanting the best for her daughter, Nordia, Tabetha’s mom, approached Phillip and said “what’s taking you so long to call my daughter”. This was the kick start Phillip needed and he finally asked Tabetha out on a date. What was originally planned as short roller skating adventure turned into a 10 hour day of; movie watching, first time sushi eating (for Phillip) and ice cream eating; adventures that neither wanted to end. With conflicting schedules and a “trigger shy” Phillip, their next date did not happen for several weeks. Early-on both Tabetha and Phillip knew their relationship was destined to be more than something casual. The days trickled by slowly as they both sought signs from God as confirmation that they were meant to be together. They slowly increased their frequency of dates and lost countless hours of sleep talking on the phone. By the time the leaves changed colors, they both knew God was up to something. In February of 2018, God’s plan had been made clear as their love grew. They continued to keep God first in their relationship by doing bible study together and daily prayer. As they continued to learn from one another daily, it truly astonished them at how perfect God’s plan is, when the pieces of the puzzle fit together. On May 17th, 2019 Phillip and Tabetha will add another chapter to their story when they marry in beautiful Ocho Rios Jamaica. |
